Ducks Unlimited, Inc., has an opening for a Director of Donor Engagement at our National Headquarters in Memphis, TN. The Director of Donor Engagement reports to the Managing Director of Operations and is based at the National Headquarters in Memphis, TN.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and lead a successful and integrated donor relations program with a focus on individual Major Sponsors, planned giving donors and prospects and foundation partners.
  • Oversee the President's Council program to include regular stewardship, personalized acknowledgments, coordinating and planning Council activities, creating program materials, identifying prospects and working with field staff to increase donors at this level.
  • Assist the managing director with the implementation of the CEO Roundtable and Chairman's Circle.
  • Partner with corporate relation and executive staff to plan, coordinate and implement stewardship and recognition activities for corporate partners.
  • Serve as primary liaison with the communications team on development program projects to include campaign and other special initiative materials.
  • Ensure donors are acknowledged and recognized to strengthen and increase their financial support for Ducks Unlimited.
  • Serve as a liaison and specialist to development team to provide cultivation and stewardship assistance for individual donors and prospects. Create innovative programs and projects to recognize and steward donors.
  • Direct the development and implementation of strategic donor communication plan incorporating multiple mediums.
  • Coordinate with field team to manage major donor event activities (field experiences, evenings of conservation, project dedications, major donor hunts) to include maintaining department event calendar, managing invitations, creating/maintaining photo archive and publicizing through appropriate communication vehicles.
  • Direct the development and implementation of strategic donor communication plan incorporating multiple mediums.
  • Provide data analysis to inform planning, goal-setting and annual progress to goal for program and team members.
  • Establish and revise processes and procedures for the donor engagement program.

 

Qualifications:

Experience and Education: Bachelor's degree from accredited university or college; minimum of seven years of fundraising, non-profit administration and solicitation experience.

Communication Skills: Superb communications, writing and presentation skills.

Technological Proficiency: Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite proficiency are required; experience with membership database required with experience in Blackbaud CRM preferred.

Interpersonal Skills: Detail-oriented, self-motivated, exceptional organizational skills, and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Commitment to the mission and goals of Ducks Unlimited.

Management & Leadership Skills: Ability to design, implement and direct multiple projects, setting deadlines and ensuring program accountability, and to think strategically, both departmentally and organizationally. Demonstrated interpersonal skills to effectively relate to donors, volunteers and colleagues. Ability to motivate and hold accountable team members to meet personal and team goals. Proficiency in prioritizing and managing multiple, diverse and on-going projects. Ability to work long hours and occasional weekends. Willingness to travel frequently and on short notice.
