Job Description

Job Summary

Leads the preparation, research and analysis of fixed asset accounting and other financial information to support the General Finance Department goals and objectives. Oversees the month-end close process for Workday Business Assets, supports annual audits, and provides financial analysis for the preparation of management reports. Serves as a liaison between the Capital Operations team, and Business and Capital Planning Management. Provides day- to-day leadership to the Fixed Assets team members to improve the overall quality and timeliness of the deliverables. Responsible for handling the more complex aspects and issues of fixed asset reconciliations, reporting and capital policy application.

Essential Functions

• Serves as a resource to internal team members and operational areas. Mentors new employees and provides support and guidance to members of the Capital Operations team.

• Performs monthly reconciliations of the fixed asset balance sheet accounts, prepares depreciation expense forecasts, and completes month-end account certifications and quarterly checklist for Financial Reporting.

• Provides guidance on business issues including capital policy interpretation. Develops solutions to problems of unusual complexity, which require a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovation.

• Serves as the Workday Business Assets subject matter expert, and as a consultant to operational areas of the organization to support the financial goals and objectives of Spectrum Health.

• Required Bachelor's Degree Accounting, finance, business administration, economics, statistics or related field

• Preferred Master's Degree Business or Finance

• 5 years of relevant experience Finance, accounting, or related work Required

• Formal or informal leadership experience Required

• LIC-Certified Public Accountant (CPA) - STATE_MI State of Michigan preferred
