Kirkland Feedyard in Vega, Texas is searching for a Pen Rider.

Started in 1983 by Perry Kirkland, Kirkland Feedyard has grown into a refined cattle feeding operation serving a variety of customers. The 23,000 head feedyard is a family business that is proud to serve the cattle industry.

Responsibilities include:

• Maintain the health and welfare of the cattle on the feedlot
• Receiving and checking in cattle (weighing cattle and getting a headcount off of the truck).
• Shipment of fat cattle.
• Ability to work in any weather conditions, including but not limited to rain, heat, cold, wind & dust

Our ideal candidate would have the following qualifications

• Previous experience as a Pen Rider preferred.
• Experience riding horse and doctoring cattle is required.
• Ability to identify sick cattle.
