Clinical Director

Located on over 400 acres in North Oakland County, Rose Hill Center is a comprehensive treatment and rehabilitation program for adults with mental illness. Rose Hill provides medication support, education, and training to help people from all over the country achieve their highest level of independence. Rose Hill Center is accredited through the Joint Commission and licensed by the State of Michigan (5 Adult Foster Care homes). Rose Hill Center is a 24/7, 365 day operation. The Clinical Director is responsible for the overall operation of clinical services; participates as a member of the Leadership Team, Admissions Committee, chairs the Performance Improvement Committee, and may be directed to serve as person in command in the absence of the President and CEO. The Clinical Director supervises the Clinical Team which includes case managers, medical nurses, clinical administrative assistant, and contractual psychiatrists, psychologists and therapists.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain current knowledge of and ensure compliance with all state, federal, regulatory, licensing, specialized certification and accreditation standards. In coordination with President and Board of Directors, participate in the design of Rose Hill clinical services. Assure case plans meet clinical needs of individuals served, and in conjunction with the Program Director, assure programs meet clinical needs, while supporting the overall mission of Rose Hill. To the greatest degree possible, maintain census at or ahead of budgeted levels and with planned payor mix/financial assistance constraints. Maintain strong working relations with other departments and functions not under direct control. Serve as Chair of the Performance Improvement Committee; ensure corrective action as necessary to meet defined quality outcomes and standards. Coordinate the ongoing preparation for Joint Commission accreditation and regulatory board licensures. Maintain current knowledge of and ensure implementation of all personnel policies and practices in employment-related activities. Coordinate the work of psychiatrists, psychologists, specialty therapists, and other contracted professionals. Responsible for development and implementation of medical protocols; ensure staff training and work directly with pharmacy to ensure implementation of established procedures. Coordinate ongoing functionality of and upgrades to the Electronic Medical Record clinical software. Serve as liaison with families, referral sources, community safety and law enforcement agencies and other stake holders. Create, monitor and institute corrective action as necessary for all clinical service budgets. Participate in activities advancing public awareness of Rose Hill mission and programs, including marketing visits, as requested. Candidates must possess excellent problem-solving, negotiating, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills, and sensitivity for confidential information. Strong project management skills; ability to clearly articulate results/outcomes and devise and monitor means of achievement. The ability to remain objective and act decisively and appropriately in ambiguous and/or crises situations.

EDUCATION: Master's Degree in Social Work or Psychology, Nursing (RN or MSN), or related field with appropriate state licensure or certification.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of five years experience in clinical work serving adults with serious mental illness, five years of related management experience, and five years of progressive supervisory experience in a clinical setting. Preferred experience with Dialectical Behavior Therapy and operations of Co-Occurring programs.
