* Plans, directs, coordinates, evaluates, and documents quality Ambulance Services to customers in accordance with hospital policies/procedures and criterion established by various legal and regulatory accrediting bodies.
* Responds to routine and critical care calls; under the supervision of attending physician, provides appropriate Basic Life Support and Advance Life support services to patients in compliance with level of training and departmental guidelines/protocols.
* Manages/Oversees that responsibilities of the Ambulance Service are performed in an accurate, timely, cost effective, professional, and confidential manner.
* Initiates and enforces that quality Ambulance services are administered to patients.
* Manages/Oversees that ambulances are maintained in a "road ready" condition (i.e., making minor repairs/adjustments; restocking medical supplies; checking gas, oil, water, and tire pressure at the beginning of each shift).
* Promotes and enforces departmental compliance with general safety and infection control standards.
* Fulfills responsibilities of REMT-P, REMT-I, REMT-B, and backup Certified Ambulance Drivers as deemed necessary.
* Recruits, orients, trains, counsels, and schedules personnel.
* Prepares and monitors departmental goals, budget, and performance improvement activities under the direction of the Assistant EMS Director.
* Performs other duties as assigned while demonstrating willingness, ability, and team spirit to provide optimal customer satisfaction.
* Assists with orientation/in-service and attends, demonstrates, and participates in required in-services, performance improvement activities (including EXCEL), and other educational programs.

Requirements: Previous clinical experience with 3-5 years experience as a Registered Paramedic and a AAS degree or 5 years supervisory experience; must be proficient in Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support, Pediatric Life Support, and be able to assume the role of Code Blue monitor; must be 21-years of age, possess a valid driver's license, a safe driver's record, and current certification as an ambulance driver; previous experience in Ambulance Service management and/or supervision preferred; and, good communication skills required in order to effectively communicate with inter and intra departmental employees, physicians and their office personnel, patients and their family members, public, and via radio communications. The incumbent must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills needed to proficiently provide care to a patient population to include, but not limited to: infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
