Overview

Under the direction of the Director for MSTI Research with matrix reporting to the Director of MSTI Pharmacy, the research pharmacist is responsible for providing investigational drug information and assisting licensed providers to ensure optimal drug therapy for patients. This individual will be responsible for dispensing medication to patients in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and standards of practice.  This individual will mix IVs, compounds, and omicells, as well as dispense medicines and preparations in accordance with pharmacy law and accepted standards of practice. You will support St. Luke’s team of providers, clinical research staff, and nurses, as well as educate patients to provide top-notch patient care

 

Review appropriateness of prescribed medication therapy. Provide medication information and consultation to patients, nurses, and medical staff. Interpret prescriptions, compound, and dispense medications. Supervise and authorize the work of technicians, externs, interns, and support staff. Prepare and maintain all necessary records on medication therapy, prescriptions, patient charges, medical records, and inventory. Perform cognitive clinical pharmacy services and document findings and actions in accordance with standards of the medical center. May assist in the training of technicians, externs, interns, residents, and other department staff. Serve as a role model and mentor to technicians, students, residents, and new practitioners. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

Required Criteria 

  • Valid Pharmacist License in state of practice (Idaho)
  • Valid Idaho Pharmacist Controlled Substance Registration
