Schedules includes a weekend and holiday rotation.

A valid NYS drivers license and a clean driving record is strongly preferred

POSITION TITLE: Security Officer

MISSION STATEMENT:

POSITION SUMMARY:

Enforces security related policies and procedures to provide a safe and secure environment for all employees, visitors, patients and physical properties. Performs other duties as assigned to assist in achieving overall division and hospital goals.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

NYS certification as a Security Guard required. High school graduate or equivalent. Minimum of two years security experience highly desirable. College level course work in criminal justice a definite plus, but not required.

BLS/CPR certification and first aid training required.

Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, SKILLS OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to diffuse and handle violent physical situations calmly. Excellent interpersonal skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS:

Clinical and outdoor setting. Exposure Class I.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Medium work: standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling.

WORK CONTACT GROUP:

All services, medical staff, patients, visitors, contractors, vendors, various regulatory agencies.
