To be considered for this opportunity, you must at a minimum demonstrate skill and ability to:
• Manage, maintain, and improve the Materials Laboratory AASHTO Accreditation, Slide Hazard and Monitoring Programs
• Evaluate, develop, and implement engineering and material testing policies and procedures
• Provide engineering review, technical, and quality control oversight to professional and technical staff
• Provide Licensed Engineer signature and stamp on project designs for compliance with principles of Standard Engineering Practice
• Prioritize, distribute, and manage multiple projects to meet deadlines and ensure timely product delivery to clientele
• Mentor, supervise, review, and approve field investigation techniques, engineering analyses, test methods and procedures, and engineering documents prepared by personnel
• Evaluate roadway structural impacts associated with truck hauling activities and develop recommendations for mitigation and/or repair
• Provide technical advice and/or briefings to upper management, direction and consultation to consultants and in-house design staff
• Perform or direct field evaluations to assess pavement, slope, and/or structural hazards and provide recommendations for repair
• Geotechnical Project/Task Manager for tasks or project assignments from inception through construction
• Research, evaluate, and incorporate new geotechnical and pavement design technologies that improve efficiency and performance
• Supervise and mentor personnel and assist them in reaching their career goals by encouraging training opportunities and challenging assignments
• Ensure personnel remain current with changing technologies and have the most relevant and up to date tools to complete their responsibilities safely, efficiently, and professionally
• Resolve personnel and administrative issues and identify resources and staffing needs of the unit
• Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering OR an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates knowledge of geotechnical and pavement principles and technologies.
• 10+ years of professional experience performing and analyzing a wide range of geotechnical and pavement investigations
• 5+ years of geotechnical and pavement design project management experience
• Skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
• Ability to efficiently work on multiple projects and tasks with varying deadlines and prioritization.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
