Volunteer Coordinator Habitat for Humanity Vail Valley is seeking an outgoing and energetic Volunteer Coordinator to organize volunteer support for the various activities of the affiliate, oversee the international program and serve as the AmeriCorps and Internship programs manager.

This is a full-time salaried position and is based primarily at the construction site office in Gypsum.  Volunteer Coordination responsibilities include volunteer recruitment, day to day volunteer correspondence and scheduling, sweat equity coordination and reporting, daily on-site volunteer management, volunteer appreciation and records keeping.  The International program has historically sent a team of local volunteers to build homes in another country around the world.  The Volunteer Coordinator works with a committee to determine build location, recruit volunteers and coordinate trip details with Habitat International, the country affiliate and local volunteers.  As AmeriCorps and Internship programs manager, the Volunteer Coordinator’s responsibilities include applying for, recruiting and hiring AmeriCorps Members, NCCC teams and Interns, orienting them to the affiliates programs, completing quarterly reports and facilitating member development and performance management.

We are looking for applicants who thrive being around people and enjoy lots of social interaction.  Applicants must have college level education, valid driver’s license, and must have previous experience in at least one of the following areas:  customer service, volunteer coordination, event planning or Human Resources.   Desired qualifications include a college degree in a related field, management experience, previous public speaking experience, and great attention to detail.  Ability to speak Spanish and /or construction skills are also a plus.
