Summary

As King County continues to take an aggressive approach to fighting the effects of COVID-19, we are asking for your help.  There is a significant need for additional staffing assistance at the isolation/quarantine sites. 

Please note: This is a role that may have contact with symptomatic/COVID positive clients.

Work location: Various congregate setting around King County.

Summary:

Direct supervision of the staff assigned to perform COVID-19 response work for :
  • Shelter Assessment and Infection Prevention Education
  • Clinical Site Assessments.
  • Direct Health Care at the COVID Recovery Centers: Isolation & Quarantine (I&Q) and Assessment Center / Recovery Center (ACRC). Shifts available: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM. Shift report and change over 7:00-7:30.


Required Qualifications and Licensing:
  • A Washington State License as a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Ability to travel between sites on a regular basis
  • Advanced training in nursing administration or public health, or comparable experience
  • Demonstrated experience in personnel supervision, and management techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to hold people accountable and give useful feedback
  • Knowledge of program development, evaluation techniques, and Quality Improvement processes
  • Knowledge of occupational health, handling of hazards, and safety principles
  • Skilled in interviewing techniques and principles
  • Previous experience providing guidance in a community based program, and/or community health nursing experience desired
  • Knowledge of Buprenorphine and/or Substance Abuse

  • Public Health relies on office automation (Microsoft Office 365) and other web-enabled tools. Candidates must be proficient and comfortable with computer use to perform essential functions of the position.

  • Staff may be required to play an active role in the event of a public health emergency, which may include changes in responsibilities, work location and working hours.

Necessary Special Requirement:

  • The selected candidate will be required to pass a thorough background investigation.
  • Employees are required to protect the privacy and security of protected health information as defined in State and Federal Law.
  • Employees are required to adhere to OSHA/WISHA guidelines including but not limited to completing their mandatory trainings on time.
  • May be deployed to other sections as needed to support operational needs.
