This position is responsible for overseeing, organizing, and optimizing population health data used to drive value-based population health strategies primarily for University Hospitals Accountable Care Organizations. University Hospitals Accountable Care Organizations include the Medicare ACO, Commercial ACO’s, Medicare Advantage ACO’s, and the Employee Health plan ACO’s.

  • Designs, develops, and deploys population health reporting from various data sources into standard reporting packages for internal and external audiences.
  • Serves as analytic lead to deploy internal population health and value-based analytics by extracting and reporting analytics for presentation and interactive consumption.
  • Tracks, prompts, and reports value-based contracting performance and analyzes available data sources to empower intervention to improve the value of care provided to the UH patient population.
  • Leverages various analytical platforms and programming languages to deploy interactive dashboards, routine reports, and ad hoc analytics to support strategic population health initiatives.
  • Collaborates with data scientists, data engineers, quality regulatory specialists, UH IT services, clinicians, and UH finance services to deploy actionable population health analytics.
  • Designs, develops, and deploys physician scorecards to distribute comparative, descriptive, and predictive value-based performance analytics to primary care providers, executive leadership, and UH Population Health colleagues.
  • Independently manages projects and assignments which advance UH’s value-based population health strategy.
  • Prepares recommendations to enhance and lead data-driven quality improvement efforts to narrate and inform UH’s value-based population health strategy.

Education

•             Bachelor’s degree required in business, healthcare, statistics, mathematics, clinical informatics, analytics, information technology, or any other relevant field. Master’s degree preferred.

Required Credentials, License, and / or Certifications

•             Recognized and credible industry certification in data analytics, programming platforms, business intelligence platforms, statistical modeling and/or database programming preferred.

Experience & Knowledge:

•             3-7 years experience analyzing and managing healthcare data.

•             Understanding of health care industry trends and strategies including population health, Accountable Care Organizations, Patient-Centered Medical Homes, and Value-based care.

•             Experience working with multiple health care data sources including Electronic Medical Record application(s), registration and scheduling systems, and medical claims repositories.

Special Skills & Equipment Knowledge:

•             Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven presentation experience.

•             Demonstrated skills in Excel, VBA, Access, SQL and/or other database programming languages.

•             Demonstrated skills in data visualization in programs such as Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik, Microstrategy, etc.

•             Proven time management and organizational skills.

•             Demonstrated excellence in customer service

•             Proven collaboration experience on technical workflows.

•             Demonstrated ability to apply advanced analytics skills
