Job Description
The Chesapeake Bay Foundation seeks a Keystone Trees Pennsylvania Partnership Manager in the EPR Department to be based in Harrisburg, PA with travel to other CBF offices.

THE CHESAPEAKE BAY FOUNDATION

Established in 1966, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF) is the largest regional nonprofit conservation organization dedicated to saving the Chesapeake Bay, its rivers and streams, and the wildlife that call it home through education, advocacy, litigation, and restoration. Since 2010, CBF has engaged in a focused effort to defend and implement the Chesapeake Clean Water Blueprint, a binding federal and state collaborative agreement aimed at reducing pollution to the science-based, legally-affirmed levels established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The Blueprint is expected to be fully implemented by 2025. If the states and the federal government achieve Blueprint goals, the Bay will finally—after decades of failed efforts—be removed from the Clean Water Act’s impaired waters list. Successfully implementing the Blueprint depends on a well-informed, engaged, active, and diverse constituency of members, advocates, and volunteers who speak up and take action to save the Bay.

CBF has a staff of approximately 210 employees working in offices in Annapolis, Maryland; Richmond and Virginia Beach, Virginia; Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; and Washington, D.C. as well as 15 field education program locations. Our staff and volunteer corps work throughout the region educating students and adults, advocating for clean water policies, restoring waterways, and litigating when necessary.
CBF's headquarters office in Annapolis, Maryland is the Philip Merrill Environmental Center, the world’s first U.S. Green Build Council’s LEED platinum building. In 2014, CBF opened the Brock Environmental Center—one of the world’s most energy efficient, environmentally smart buildings—in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
CBF has an annual budget of approximately $30 million and is supported by over 300,000 members and e-subscribers. For more information on CBF, please visit cbf.org.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Environmental Protection and Restoration

CONTEXT OF THE POSITION
CBF’s Making History campaign provides the impetus for meeting the 2025 Chesapeake Clean Water Blueprint goals through three focused milestones: planting 10 million trees along streams, streets, and other priority areas in Pennsylvania, adding 10 billion oysters to the watershed, and galvanizing one million voices to speak and act for the Bay. The Manager position will help ensure the success of the Keystone 10 Million Trees Partnership (K10) by synchronizing creative strategies to serve and diversify the partners, funders, agencies, and other priority audiences. The Manager will also be a key internal CBF point person to ensure Pennsylvania campaign activities are effectively coordinated between Pennsylvania staff and with CBF headquarters in Annapolis MD. The position will report to the Vice President for Environmental Protection and Restoration.

Essential functions include:

1. Serve as coordinator and collaborator with external and internal partners. Expand upon partnership in strategic regions based on priority conservation areas, landowner interest and demand, and funding opportunities (35%)
2. Provide internal management and coordinate between staff working on K10 related projects in order to ensure consistency of projects, timely completion of deliverables and sound budget management. Work with the Vice President for EPR and Making History Campaign Financial and Administrative Coordinator on budgeting, invoicing, logistics and other metrics (30%).
3. Update, onboard, inform and train partners on current and new procedures, events, and information to maintain quality and reputation of the partnership (10%).
4. Supervise tree logistics and coordinate with PA Watershed Restoration Program and other PA staff with tree distribution and planting information, events, and timing to ensure consistent and dedicated large scale tree distribution (10%).
5. Coordinate with GIS staff, partners, and landowners to ensure trees are being tracked for DEP, grant, and restoration-based reporting (5%).
6. Lead and attend outreach events, tree plantings, relevant partner committee meetings, and present on K10 and tree topics related to recruiting landowners, partners, and supporting Pennsylvania efforts (5%).
7. Collaborate with PA Development staff to develop public and private foundation grant proposals for the K10 (5%).

Please note this is a campaign-funded position that is expected to be funded for multiple years.  However, as with any position that is dependent on campaign money, there is the risk of unexpected funding problems and the position can no longer be funded through the campaign.  IF that should happen, CBF will review the position at that time to determine if it can then be funded from other sources of income within the organization.

Salary Range:  $78,500.00
