Seattle & King County Public Health Nursing is seeking a motivated nurse to join our Midway Public Health's Parent Child Health team, which provides Maternity Support Services/Infant Case Management (MSS/ICM) and Women Infant and Children (WIC). This position is based out of a South King County Public Health Centers. Public Health Centers provide patient centered services to pregnant and parenting women, infants, and children that are either co-located with reproductive health services for men, women, and teens or embedded within a community health clinic. We are interested in individuals who are representative of the diverse population we serve and are dedicated to serving clients with quality and compassion. This program identifies moms and children in the community who might benefit from community resources that educate and empower them to successfully care for themselves and their growing families. Maternity Support Services and Infant Case Management are two components of the First Steps Program. Maternity Support Services provides services to women throughout the continuum of pregnancy, including postpartum care. Infant Case Management provides services to infants and parents until the infant is one year old. Components of practice will include family assessment, care planning, case management, education/support, documentation, and coordination of care with community providers.
Women's Infants and Children is a supplemental food program for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding infants and children and also provides: Health screening, nutrition and health education, breastfeeding promotion and support as well as helps getting other services and monthly benefits for nutritious foods.
