Position Summary/Essential Duties:

  1. Oversees daily functioning of all operational systems for the hospitalist program.  Ensures implementation of business policies and procedures for the daily operations of the hospitalist service.
  2. Sets daily operational/patient priorities, evaluates daily work flow and assigns work. Ensures that duties are carried out according to UHMSO policy and procedures. Submits PTO requests for approval to Administrator or Hospitalist Site Director.
  3. Notifies the Supervisor/Administrator/Hospitalist Site Director of coverage requirements and escalates overtime needs to Supervisor/Administrator/Hospitalist Site Director.
  4. Validates time worked for the hospitalists, tracking PTO, additional shifts, etc.
  5. Promotes, builds and ensures positive customer relationships.  Updates Administrator and Hospitalist Site Director of significant activities and resolves issues timely
  6. Assist Medical Director and regional leadership team in staffing optimization management processes with emphasis on meeting staffing design targets.
  7. Coordinates monthly site leadership and hospitalist meeting, including the schedule, logistics, agenda, minutes and presentations.
  8. Functions as a key coordinator for site specific projects and multiple site collaborative.
  9. Works closely with the billing team in standardizing billing documents, ensuring compliance and monitoring quality metrics:
  10. Compare submitted charges and patient list to ensure every patient is accounted for.
  11. Partners with the local leadership to support hospitalist based on-boarding and orientation to a respective facility.
  12. Support recruited hospitalists regarding credentialing and privileging and academic appointment related activities.
  13. Other duties as assigned.

Education.

  •  High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

 

 

 

 

 

Experience & Knowledge:

  • o 2-4 years of administrative experience.
  • o Healthcare experience preferred.
  • o Must be detail-oriented and organized, with good analytical and problem solving ability. 
  • o Notable client service, communication and relationship building skills required. 
  • o Ability to function independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment required
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours as needed.

· · Previous healthcare and medical terminology experience preferred.

 

 

Special Skills & Equipment Knowledge:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Demonstrated ability to use PCs, Microsoft Office suite, PowerPoint and general office equipment (i.e. printers, copy machine, FAX machine, cellular devices, etc.) required.
  • Oracle/SSI Markview experience preferred.
  • Kronos experience preferred Self-directed, motivated, and sensitive to deadlines.
  • Strong work ethic, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills. Able to create positive environment, clearly understand client / customer relationships
