Job Summary: |
The research in the lab focuses on investigating the neural mechanism that controls nutrient-specific feeding behavior. By employing molecular biology, neurogenetics, behavior, and functional imaging techniques, the laboratory will use Drosophila as a model organism to explore the following questions: 1) What is the neuronal substrate that orchestrates protein-feeding behavior? 2) How are different nutrient-specific signals integrated in central circuits to regulate feeding? 3) How do internal states regulate feeding through neuromodulation of different feeding circuits? Responsibilities include: Design, perform experiments and analyze data. Will use a variety of conventional techniques. May need to adapt techniques or protocols to perform the desired analysis. Prepare scientific results for scientific meetings, publications and research grants. |
