Director of Admissions

Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment Management, the Director of Admissions will provide leadership for the planning and execution of the strategic enrollment plan to achieve annual and long-range enrollment goals for undergraduate and graduate programs.

The Director supervises a staff of twelve and is responsible for developing and managing recruitment outreach for a successful enrollment cycle.

  • This includes coordination of events, travel and relationships with high schools, colleges, prospective students and their parents.
  • The Director is expected to develop strategies and test assumptions in building enrollment models that assure continued success in attracting, enrolling, retaining, and graduating a student body of exceptional talent.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • Documented leadership with progressive management experience in admissions is required.
  • An understanding of best practices in enrollment marketing and data-driven decision making, and demonstrated success in building a diverse domestic and international student population is expected.
  • Superior oral, written, presentation, organizational and analytical skills are essential.
  • Must possess the ability to work well with Dominican College faculty, administrators and staff and provide effective supervision and mentoring of staff.
  • The demonstrated capacity to work with a high level of initiative and confidence, and the ability to work collaboratively with high schools and two-year institutions will be expected of the director.
  • Understanding of and ability to troubleshoot systems like Slate, Jenzabar, and knowledge of financial aid is a plus.
