Reporting to the Director of Clinical Marketing, this role will focus on marketing products in EBSCO’s Clinical Decisions suite to applicable clinicians (physicians, APPs, etc.). The overarching goal is to generate brand awareness and engagement among this influential community in order to support efforts to retain and grow institutional business as well as to generate new direct sales to physicians. As such, the ideal Clinical Marketing Specialist candidate has 3-5 years of experience in both B2B and B2C Marketing within the healthcare space, and is familiar with clinical workflows, EMR systems, and other technologies used in practice. Leveraging a complete Marketing in-house support team, the Marketing Specialist position will develop and ensure the planning and execution of targeted marketing campaigns, working collaboratively with key stakeholders in applicable areas of Product Management, Sales and Marketing to align and optimize efforts. The candidate should be an excellent communicator and project manager, and be strong with modern marketing approaches including use of Marketing Automation tools, Account Based Marketing, Search Engine Marketing, Social Media, etc. In addition to applicable Marketing experience, any level of Clinical background/education is considered a plus.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute marketing campaigns to optimize growth potential for Clinical Decisions products through engagement with clinicians (private practices, specialists, hospital influencers)
  • Build brand awareness and enhance brand perception among applicable clinicians through B2B and B2C approaches
  • Work in close collaboration with internal stakeholders across Product Management, Sales, Marketing and Support/Training to align and optimize efforts
  • Create plans and messaging in line with clinical marketing strategy
  • Assume applicable project management responsibility for marketing campaigns and related projects
  • Write copy for any/all applicable marketing materials and campaigns with assistance/coordination from Marketing team members
  • Take part in ongoing management/updating of applicable Marketing website content
  • Ensure and leverage the availability of campaign and related metrics for continual evaluation and improvement of marketing efforts; Identify, extract and share KPIs
  • Work with channel managers for graphic design, web development, search engine marketing, PR/social media, and conventions & events to create effective multi-channel Marketing efforts
  • Support clinical Sales team with any/all applicable Marketing materials
  • Support clinical training/implementation team with any all materials to increase end user engagement with applicable Clinical Decisions products
  • Work directly with key partners (EMR providers, Specialty Associations, etc.) to optimize outreach and engagement with clinicians

 

Requirements

  • Must have a college degree (Bachelor's); preferably in Communications, Marketing or Business
  • 3-5 years of writing & campaign experience in a marketing function
  • 3-5 years of experience working in the health care industry
  • Experience in product launches, retention marketing and brand awareness campaigns
  • Experience in both B2B and B2C healthcare marketing
  • Experience with SEM, social media, 1:1 marketing via marketing automation and other modern and traditional marketing approaches

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Clinical work experience or Clinical Education is a plus
  • Specific experience in a hospital/health care setting
  • Specific experience in managing marketing efforts related to clinical decision support, including knowledge of EMR workflows and other HIT initiatives
  • Should be detail-oriented and conscientious
  • Must be a team player working well across groups and departments
