| Job Summary: | Will function as a technologist mainly in Histology and may rotate in other areas of the laboratory performing patient care testing as needed. Perform duties that may include; running various laboratory instrumentation, performing manual testing, specimen receiving and processing; computer related duties such as patient entry, test request entry/requisition format, on-line/manual entry of test results, data retrieval, printing and answering worksheets, printing panic and pending log sheets, phoning panic values and documenting in computer system, quality control, reagent preparation, following general laboratory and safety procedures including universal precautions and chemical and biochemical hazard precautions. |

| Minimum Qualifications: |
NYS license/registration or limited permit to practice as a certified Histological Technician or Clinical Laboratory Technologist and 2 years of histology or clinical laboratory experience required. Candidates with no histology or clinical laboratory experience or with a NYS license/registration or limited permit to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technician will be considered for appointment to a commensurate title and salary. Ability to distinguish colors required. |
| Preferred Qualifications: |
Experience with Electron Microscopy Techniques preferred but not required. |
