Job Description:

Data Scientist sought by trueX, Inc. in Los Angeles to work with Director of Data Science in building ad optimization, inventory forecasting, and campaign risk assessment models. Work with data directly from the company’s data warehouse, as well as with sources assembled with assistance from data engineering. Effectively present findings both verbally and visually to the business units. Work on machine learning systems for automating much of ad operations and campaign management. Optimize ad media types to maximize brand lift metrics. Forecast ad delivery over the next day, week, month, quarter, and year using historical data and sales pipeline data. Perform audience clustering for ad targeting and publisher insights. Support various business units with ad hoc analytics.

Job Requirements:

Doctor of Philosophy in Operations Research, Management Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field, plus one (1) year experience in developing and designing advanced scientific or analytical models to solve business problems using Python, R and SQL, including experience in data science research; visualizing data sets and identifying insights for business users; and performing various analysis and tests to benchmark model performance.

Specific skills:

Qualifying experience or knowledge may be acquired during graduate studies and must include:

1) Programming languages and tools including Matlab, VBA, Javascript and Tableau.

2) Building production models using techniques such as SVM, random forest, and gradient boosted trees.

3) Time-series data sets and models.

4) Building and implementing advanced machine learning models such as neural networks.

5) Core data mining and machine learning models including KNN and KMeans, Linear Regression, and Logistics Regression.

6) Designing and implementing linear and nonlinear high dimensional data reduction techniques.

7) Optimization models such as linear and nonlinear optimization.

Any level of experience or knowledge in the specific skills is acceptable.
