Senior Stress Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to develop and utilize engineering methodology to verify the structural integrity of systems design for aerospace product design projects using finite element method (FEM) analysis, stress analysis, fatigue analysis (LCF, HCF, Sonic), and thermal analysis.
  • Develop a detailed vision for processes being developed.
  • Develop methods and standards for analyzing and testing the structural design and for determining basic structural temperatures and/or loads and elastic behavior of aircraft, missiles, or their major components.
  • Perform moderately difficult and complex thermal and/or structural analyses of new or redesigned aircraft.
  • Plan and direct the preparation of detailed thermal and/or stress analyses, thermal and/or structural tests, and basic temperatures and/or loads reports required by governmental agencies and contract specifications.
  • Frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques.
  • Review design drawings for structural and material acceptability.
  • Perform computerized finite element methods of analysis.
  • Provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.
  • Participate in MRB activities to assure structural adequacy of non-conformances.

Must have Master's Degree in Aeronautical Engineering or its foreign educational equivalent.
