Position Summary Information

Position Summary
Assist in the following duties:
Prepare surfaces to be painted; remove old paint using burners, sandpaper, sandblaster, and scrapers
Apply paint to interior and exterior of buildings using a spray gun, brushes or rollers
Caulk window frames, door frames, and other necessary louvers as required.
Haul, rig and erect scaffolding and ladders.
Clean brushes and spray guns and other painting equipment and make minor repairs to equipment.
Function as lead worker over student employees.
Plaster and drywall refinishing as needed.
Prepare woodwork for refinishing as time permits.
Drive cargo van to transport equipment and supplies.
Must hold a valid drivers license to operate state owned vehicles or equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction. A successful campus interview and passing a criminal background check required.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to applicants who have painting experience in an institutional environment and experience working with diverse populations.
