Director Of Engineering

The Municipality of Bethel Park is seeking a Director of Engineering. This position will supervise employees and manage the municipal road, storm sewer, and capital improvement programs; review erosion and sedimentation control plans, land development and subdivision plans; and oversee the environmental engineer managing the Municipality's Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Program and the operation, maintenance, and rehabilitation of the municipal wastewater system.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: supervision of employees, design and specification development, develop cost estimates, conducting and managing inspections, tabulations of contract bids and contract payments, manage capital improvement projects and storm sewer system rehabilitation, review plans and oversee inspection of land development and subdivision site work, municipal park design and cost estimates, overseeing code enforcement for grading and storm water issues.

Thorough knowledge of principles/practices of civil engineering; ability to make comprehensive recommendations on engineering problems; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, contractors and the general public.

A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required, with a minimum of 4 years of relevant engineering experience. P.E. required.

Salary range is $75,000 - $90,000 and commensurate with experience/qualifications.
