EBSCO seeks a Stacks Enterprise Solutions (SES) Product Owner to join the Stacks team. The successful candidate will work with customers and internal EBSCO stakeholders to capture and refine the Product Definition & Roadmap for all audiences. Additionally, the Product Owner will support SES's enhancement and customization opportunities by identifying the technical, user experience and workflow requirements for new features, functionality, and 3rd party platform integrations. The Product Owner will be the intermediary between customers and EBSCO Stacks development, product, design and implementation teams and work closely with leadership to manage product communications.

 

As the ideal candidate, you have a proven track record as a product owner and demonstrated experience in business, systems, or solution architecture. You excel in a team and remote work environment and are detail and results orientated.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Operationalizing the product roadmap into features, requirements, and user stories
  • Engaging with customers and other stakeholders to understand their problems and needs
  • Backlog management, monitoring and review of dependencies, issues, and risks
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of the team's best practices, templates, and tools

 

Required Qualifications

  • 5-7 years in the technology industry with experience as a solution consultant, product owner, business analyst, or similar. 
  • Experience in gathering requirements from a diverse group of stakeholders, including requirements elicitation, user acceptance testing, use case development, gap analysis 
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience in working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Knowledge of library systems or learning management systems
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and adeptness at conducting research
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 
  • Ability to travel and attend industry events 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Passionate about EBSCO products with a focus on customer service
  • Experience working with software developers in a lean development environment
  • Experience in RESTFUL API development and writing API documentation
  • Experience in PHP, JavaScript, Python, SQL, CSS
  • Experience using Atlassian JIRA and Confluence
  • Working knowledge of Open Badges and Micro-Credentials
  • Knowledge of Identity Management protocols, such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and SAML
