Become a part of a multidisciplinary team of competent and caring mental health professionals providing assessment, stabilization, and treatment services to the Western Massachusetts community!

As a Counselor, you will be able to support youth ages 10-17, family members, and service providers by identifying, assisting, and treating the needs of youth experiencing acute crisis in a short-term residential treatment program.

Counselors supervise youth at all times during the shift, facilitate therapeutic groups, and use crisis intervention techniques when required. Counselors work closely with the clinical team to provide for the daily needs of youth and document their progress. Individuals in this role will be per diem with potential to move into full time positions and will have the opportunity to grow through service, health, and professional trainings and workshops.

At Behavioral Health Network’s Village for Youth CBAT Program, we believe in utilizing leadership, problem solving, and communication skills to create a safe and nurturing environment which will offer the opportunity to guide, teach, serve, and empower youth. Through the use of trauma informed, strength based models, academic instruction, and clinical support, we focus on providing youth with mental health issues the assistance they need to integrate and succeed within our community.

CBAT Counselors at Behavioral Health Network have the following qualities:

  • Knowledge of the youth mentally ill population.
  • Good observation and documentation skills.
  • Patience and humor.
  • 1 year experience in a human service field or equivalent experience with a psychiatric population, working with youth (preferred).
  • Bilingual in Spanish & English (preferred).
  • Associate’s Degree in Human Services or related field (required); Bachelor’s Degree (preferred).

 **NOTICE**

In accordance with the BHN Mandatory COVID vaccine policy - all staff, interns, temps, residents and contractors are required to be fully vaccinated no later than day one of employment. Medical or religious exemptions will be offered and must be approved prior to starting work.

The same guidelines noted above apply during flu season (defined as December 1st – through end of flu season as announced by the CDC) for BHN’s Mandatory Influenza Vaccine policy.
