The City of Dubuque invites applications for a part time position of Library Aide in the Children’s Services area. Duties include compiling records; shelving, stacking, filing and processing library materials such as books, electronic media, pictures, cards, slides and microfilm; register patrons; provide public service by answering directional, reference, and reader’s advisory questions; plan, market and perform literature-based programs for children and families; schedule and conduct school tours and instructional visits; serve as a Library liaison for schools, child care centers, preschools and other organizations serving children and families and through outreach programs; and create marketing content for programs and social media.

Possession of a high school diploma or its equivalent; customer service or experience working with youth; and possession of a state driver’s license is required. Customer service experience in a library setting and graduation from an accredited college or university with two years of experience working with Youth; a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited college or university is preferred but not required. We offer an hourly wage range of $23.83 - $31.13
