Police Chief City of Clarksburg, WV

The City of Clarksburg (population 16,000), which operates under Council/Manager form of government, is seeking applications for the full-time position of Police Chief. This position calls for the ability to guide, motivate and direct the activities and operations of a 40+ staff; develop, monitor and manage the Police Department’s annual operating budget; grant writing; fulfilling community police initiatives and responding to citizen complaints. This position will exercise complete control over the Department with direct reporting to the City Manager. The ideal candidate will continue a strong police-community relationship that engenders trust and increases public safety. The most competitive candidates will have at least 10 years of progressively responsible law enforcement experience. Position requires certification from the WV Law Enforcement Training Committee and a valid Driver’s License.

A Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or a closely related field, and computer literacy is preferred. The salary range for this position is $68,000-$70,000 Depending On Qualifications.
