The Nurse Practitioner is an advanced practice registered nurse educated in a specific area of care and certified by a nationally accrediting agency. In accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and the Louisiana state Board of Nursing, the nurse practitioner, in collaboration with the physician  provides comprehensive health assessments, determines diagnosis, manages the healthcare needs of the patient. Must be a graduate from an accredited nurse practitioner program. Masters of Science in Nursing. Must have licensure from the Louisiana State Board of Nursing. Current American Heart BLS required. Previous experience in Oncology highly preferred. Must have good working knowledge of  ICD-9 and CPT coding.
