Commercial Electrical Inspector

Job Duties: The City of Spartanburg's Building Department is seeking a person to inspect commercial and residential construction, and review electrical drawings for compliance with adopted building codes. The desired candidate will be someone comfortable working in a combination of building trades, primarily electrical.

Qualifications: Requires a high school diploma or Graduate Equivalency Diploma (GED) and four (4) years' experience in the construction and/or inspections field. Requires knowledge of State adopted International Building Codes to include the IRC, IBC, IMC, IPC, IFGC and NEC. Should possess the appropriate certifications from the International Code Congress (applicants not possessing the required certifications must earn a Commercial Electrical Inspector's certification within 12 months of employment and a second certification i.e., Plumbing, Mechanical or Building within 12 months after passing the Commercial Electrical Inspector's examination; SC Driver's License.

Pay depends on experience. Salary range is 37,295- 55,945 annually Benefits include: Medical, Vision, Dental, and SC Retirement System.
