Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities:
  1. Completes treatment plan reviews as assigned in a timely manner and in accordance with Medicaid and the Alabama Department of Mental Health standards
  2. Approves treatment plans that meet the requirements of AltaPointe, Medicaid, Joint Commission, and State Department of Mental Health in a timely manner
  3. Audits charts to ensure documentation meets AltaPointe, Medicaid, Joint Commission, and State Department of Mental Health standards
  4. Effectively demonstrates the application of adult specific competencies
  5. Adheres to professional code of ethics


Supervision and Consultation:
  1. Seeks clinical supervision and consultation as needed
  2. Accepts and employs suggestions for improvement
  3. Actively works to enhance clinical skills


Clinical Record Keeping:
  1. Documents in a timely fashion per AltaPointe policy
  2. Documents appropriate, complete, and clinically comprehensive treatment plan reviews


Case Load Management:
  1. Effectively manages caseload based on patient needs
  2. Meets AltaPointe productivity standards


Courteous and respectful attitude
  1. Respects patients privacy and confidentiality
  2. Is pleasant and cooperative with others
  3. Personal values do not inhibit ability to review charts appropriately
  4. Is sensitive to the patient's needs, expectations and individual differences


Administrative and Other Related Duties as Assigned:
  1. Actively participates in Performance Improvement activities
  2. Completes assigned tasks in a timely manner
  3. Follows AltaPointe policies and procedures
  4. Maintains current license and requirements for renewals (i.e. CEU's), if applicable, and attends to required in-services and workshops


Qualifications

Master's degree in a mental health discipline. Licensed Practical Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Marriage and Family therapist.

Knowledge in adult specialty, outlined below, to be attained within (6) six months of employment.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric disorders in the adult, child, and adolescent populations
  • Basic knowledge of the nature of addiction
  • Basic knowledge of evidenced based, research-based treatment
  • Basic knowledge of State Department of Mental Health standards for programs
  • Basic knowledge of Medicaid Chapter 105 Rehabilitation
  • Knowledge of cultural diversity
  • Knowledge of behavior management, crisis intervention and
  • Knowledge of educational methods appropriate to treatment of those with serious mental illness and/or serious emotional disturbances
