Position Summary & Essential Duties:

 

  • Develops and administers an effective Quality Assurance Program to ensure that CSP staff are providing safe, sterile devices to clinical areas.
  • Implements program to monitor quality indicators and identifies opportunities for improvement.
  • Conducts regular audits of sterile devices and reports back any inconsistencies found to CSP Mgmt. for resolution.
  • Communicates effectively with CSP Educator to identify CSP Technicians that need re-education on sterile processing best practices.
  • Works in collaboration with the OR Quality Staff to identify areas of improvement and trouble shoot solutions.
  • Maintains spreadsheet of error rates on all CSP Technicians.
  • Communicates to CSP Mgmt. on regular basis in regards to staff making recommendations for re-education and/or corrective action.
  • Participates in problem/conflict resolution from clinical areas.
  • Assists in monitoring all area’s for compliance to accreditation survey readiness, i.e. Joint Commission, OSHA, and AAMI.
  • Coordinates continuous quality improvement projects for dept. as needed.

 

Performs other job duties as required.

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED.

 

Credentials, Licensure or Certification (i.e. RN, RRT):

Required: Current certification as Sterile Processing Technician through CBSPD or IAHCSMM.

 

Experience & Knowledge:

  • 5 years’ experience in a Sterile Processing role.
  • Must be detail-oriented and organized, with good analytical and problem solving ability. 
  • Notable client service, communication and relationship building skills required. 
  • Ability to function independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment required
