HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST

Description
Assist in the execution of corporate and HR programs and processes. Administers and is responsible for select HR processes, such as recruitment, training, special projects, etc. Responsible for day-to-day Employee Relations and administrative support, providing excellent customer service to managers, employees and prospective employees.

Requirements
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinate recruitment process by preparing job postings, advertisements, pre-employment screenings, job offers, etc. for all job openings, creating and maintaining job opening records.
Provide onboarding sessions for employees, train on use of HRIS, explain and obtain benefit enrollments and acquaint the new employee with general procedures and other general employment orientation policies and procedures.
Coordinate Employee Orientation sessions.
Plan, develop, and provide training and staff development programs, using knowledge of the effectiveness of methods such as classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, meetings, conferences, and workshops. Track and report on training to ensure that employees have the skills and knowledge to meet the corporation's objectives.
Coordinate special projects and programs, such as employee surveys, annual employee recognition events, etc.
Coach and advise employees and managers regarding HR programs, practices and procedures.
Maintain employee records in filing system and Human Resources Information System.
Cross train on other HR functions, including benefits administration, FMLA leaves of absence, performance reviews, compensation management, employee recognition, and be able to perform these duties as needed.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:

 

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

4 year college degree; and,
3-5 years’ related experience plus related management experience; OR,
Equivalent combination of education and experience.

OTHER:

Professional certification as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills, in order to work effectively and professionally with applicants, colleagues, managers and vendors.
Excellent communication and organizational skills with emphasis toward customer service and the ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and Outlook, and ability to use job specific software.
Ability to work nonstandard hours when required.
