The Department of Judicial Administration (DJA) is an innovative, forward-looking agency using technology to help perform tasks better, more efficiently and reliably. DJA (also known as the Superior Court Clerk’s Office) performs a variety of services for the court, litigants and the public. DJA’s mission is to provide professional, high-quality Superior Court record services and justice system programs, while ensuring access to justice and integrity in the process. DJA operates three office locations within King County (King County Courthouse, Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent and the Youth Service Center – Juvenile Court in Seattle) in addition to our on-line applications for electronic filing and record requests. With the ease of access to file or request records the volume of financial transactions processed through the court’s trust is large, with receipts exceeding 350,000 and well in excess of $100,000,000 annually, and in excess of 154,000 accounts receivable exceeding $705,000,000. The Accounting Supervisor oversees daily operations of the staff in the Accounting and Disbursement section and may also lead the Legal Financial Obligation Collections program. Activities in these areas include: accounting for the Superior Court trust account, disbursing funds as ordered by the court, distributing fees collected to other agencies as required by statute, and assisting with monetary collections of court ordered restitution, fees and fines. This position will be responsible for ensuring the activities performed are in compliance with relevant laws, court rules, policies and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This position will supervise the work of twelve staff, which includes one accounting lead. Accounting and disbursement staff perform accounting functions such as creation and modification of ARs by court order, reconciling accounts, and disbursing funds by court order. This temporary Accounting Supervisor may also lead the Legal Financial Obligation Collections program with staff who assist with the collection of court ordered restitution, fees and fines. Primarily focusing on setting up payment plans and enforcing those payment plans. The person in this position may be required to do some or all of the duties of these staff, or have the knowledge to perform this work in addition to other duties exampled below:

A college degree in accounting or a related field plus 2 years of experience is required. Additional years of accounting or supervisory experience may be substituted for a college degree.
