GENERAL PURPOSE:

 

Stand Steady believes in the power of creativity as a competitive advantage to building our business and our brands. The Creative Director is responsible for managing, evolving, and expanding the Creative Department to support the ever-growing multiple brands; Stand Steady, SideTrak, Tubstr, Line Leader, and others. This position drives the overall strategic and creative vision of the department, by directing and mentoring a team of design professionals. The role of the Creative Department is to create establish, execute, and maintain high quality brand standards across marketing collateral, content, photography, videos, and website material to increase sales volume, and elevate consumer experience.

 

The Creative Director’s primary responsibilities include leading all conceptual design development, delegating, and providing creative direction that aligns with branding and objectives for new and existing products across different portfolios, and overseeing execution of print and digital work. Work may include managing multiple creative team members, supervising projects for several brands simultaneously, and ensuring processes are run efficiently throughout the department. The Creative Director must be an independent thinker with the ability to manage day to day responsibilities without direction. An amazing opportunity for a smart, fast, innovative leader!

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage the Creative Department
    • Ensure Creative Department is well staffed with top performers
      • Hire, manage, and train Creative Department (creative assistants, graphic designers, photo editors, photographers, models, freelancers, interns etc.)
    • Oversee team in order to fulfill businesses needs and meet deadlines
      • Set goals and clear expectations, delegate responsibilities, maintain accountability, foster a collaborative work environment, and provide thoughtful feedback
      • Prioritize and problem solve if deadlines can not be met with current resources
    • Establish performance KPIs for team members, freelancers, and vendors to meet to be successful
    • Develop and improve team knowledge, skillsets, and capabilities
    • Provide regular opportunities for professional development and growth to team
    • Coach and mentor direct and indirect reports by providing guidance, appropriate training, role clarity, and motivation that enable their success and establish a positive working environment
    • Strategize process improvements, create documentation, lead trainings on new SOPs, enforce internal processes to streamline workflow
    • Anticipate problems that may impede a project from completing on time and implement solutions
    • Manage logistics, preparation, and execution of all creative content from concept to completion (print and digital)
      • Photo shoots
      • Product listings images & videos

 

      • Product collateral: directions and product assembly
      • Box packaging and sticker design
      • Website and ad content
      • Templates for Adobe and Microsoft Office programs
    • Oversee responsiveness of the team to inquiries and requests. Review work, provide feedback, and hold staff accountable for meeting service level expectations
    • Conduct quality employee performance reviews to evaluate performance to ensure the requirements of Luxor/Stand Steady are met, and that high performers are challenged with additional responsibility
    • Oversee timelines and budgets
    • Establish metrics (KPIs) for operational processes and initiatives; develop data presentation format and report to manager

 

  • Develop creative strategies and brand identities
    • Collaborate closely with key internal stakeholders to brainstorm innovative ideas, fulfill marketing needs across the company
    • Translate marketing objectives into clear creative strategies and high quality content
    • Ensure visual communication and brand standards are met, by analyzing competitors and researching market trends
      • Ensure that the brand visuals are consistent across various marketing channels and embody a consumer-centric mentality
    • Continuously update existing product content, outdated collateral, and under-optimized ecommerce product listings
    • Translate market data and consumer insights, in monthly profitability meetings, to assess effectiveness of creative decisions
      • Make informed strategies that result in quantitative sales and target conversion rates
    • Track creative content and perform A/B tests to increase sales volume

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Interact and collaborate with Customer Service, New Product Development, Operations, and Marketing Departments for both SideTrak and Stand Steady
  • Assist with other departments and functions as required
  • Special projects as needed
  • Occasional travel for conferences and tradeshows

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

 

  • Work History Requirements:
    • Success managing a range of creative positions i.e. graphic designers, photographers, photo editors, motion graphics, and UX/UI designers 5+ years
    • Minimum 8 years work experience in product marketing, with 3-4 years managing teams with direct reports
    • Preferred experience in both small and large companies
    • Video Editing and storyboarding preferred
  • Education Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Experience can be substituted for education

 

Computer equipment and level of software requirements:

 

  • Asana or similar project management software experience
  • Photoshop - Expert
  • Photography – Expert
  • Illustrator – Expert
  • InDesign – Expert
  • Premiere Pro – Preferred
  • After Effects -- Preferred
