Job Description

The Innovation Operations Specialist will work with Innovation team to understand strategic direction and collaborate with Innovation leadership, delivery team to optimize, accelerate, and build agility an Innovation portfolio of work. This includes overseeing the health and performance of portfolio efforts and internal processes and developing and implementing remedies for improving efficiency and speed of outcomes.

Primary Focus:

Operations Management:

  • Oversee portfolio/program management of multiple Innovation initiatives and internal operations to drive optimization of processes, elimination of system constraints, and acceleration of value and outcomes in partnership with portfolio owners
  • Identify constraint points and bottlenecks in end-to-end delivery processes and design, vet, and implement automation and process solutions that allow structure, but with agility and flexibility
  • Partner with Innovation team leadership and enterprise partners in influencing and executing process change in cross-functional delivery processes
  • Assess, recommend, and execute internal efficiency programs that streamline team operations 50%

Portfolio Management:

  • Facilitate discovery, definition, intake, and prioritization infrastructure of innovation efforts both internally and externally facing LOB, Industry Team, and Functional Area initiatives
  • Manage the fluid pipeline of work (Smart Experiments, Projects, LOB Programs, Product Roadmaps, etc.) to ensure smooth operation and adequate planning/forecasting, securing, and coverage of resources as work is added, changed, or removed
  • Continually identify, assess, monitor and communicate portfolio health, issues and risks associated with delivering on innovation initiative and provide first-level support for resolution
  • Establish, track, and communicate ongoing metrics and key performance indicators via reporting and dashboards that track the health of the overall innovation 20%

Minimum qualifications and accountability:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, or PMO certification PREFERRED
  • Undergraduate Degree REQUIRED

TECHNICAL/SOFT SKILLS

  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments PREFERRED
  • Project Management Skills PREFERRED
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office–REQUIRED
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written – REQUIRED
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy – REQUIRED
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team – REQUIRED
  • Effective organization and time management skills -- REQUIRED
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills REQUIRED
  • Strong interpersonal skills plus a pro-active approach to finding solutions to issues and managing priorities PREFERRED
  • Ability to work and lead efficiently with remote team members REQUIRED
  • Self-motivated and pro-active approach to follow up on deliverables REQUIRED

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant work experience REQUIRED
  • Operations Management experience REQUIRED
  • Experience in implementing Lean systems PREFERRED
