Quality Assurance Supervisor

  • Maintain the integrity of quality system by verifying HACCP Plans for compliance for all manufacturing lines.
  • Maintain facility pre-requisite programs including, Pathogen Environmental Monitoring (PEM), Pest Control Program, Allergen validation, Recall program etc.
  • Serve as a back up for QA Manager and oversee compliance of food safety programs.
  • Compliance on FDA FSMA by preparing HARPC plans and identifying and implementing Preventive Controls.
  • Conduct out of specification investigations, consumer complaint investigation and report findings to the QA Manager.
  • Ensure compliance to customer policy and/ or program requirements.
  • Assist plant management during startups, test runs or special projects.
  • Perform GMP and sanitation inspections and assist plant management with corrective action plans.
  • Conduct routine internal audits and ensure compliance of food safety and quality measures.
  • Lead/ Participate in SQF and other third party customer audits (AIB).
  • Responsible for Hold/Release documentation and disposition of products.
  • Support the operations team efforts and provide technical assistance with training and sanitation.
  • Identify and maintain the caliber of quality testing equipment in the laboratory and troubleshoot technical issues on moisture meter, water activity meter, microscope etc.
  • Maintain plant Kosher program
  • Assemble the KPI outputs for quarterly management review meetings.
  • Be compliant to new regulations of FDA (FSMA), third party updates (SQF 8.0) etc. and participate/ lead audits.
  • Assist the R&D team during new product validation trials.
  • Serve as a backup SQF Practitioner in the absence of QA Manager
  • Serve as a backup GFCO contact in the absence of QA Manager
  • Hire, direct, and recommend terminations of QA Techs as required.
  • Be engaged in the day-to-day running of the business by performing tasks beyond normal/baseline job responsibilities, participating in team or business improvement meetings and initiatives positioned toward improving business results.
  • Be able to perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Master degree in Food Safety and Technology or related and two (2) years of experience are required.

Academic training and/or experience must include:

- PCQI/FSPCA – FDA Food Safety Modernization Act Certification

- HACCP Certification

- SQF Level 2 Certification

- Internal Auditing Certification

- Two years of experience with HACCP planning and implementation

- 6 months of experience with use of PetriFilms for Food Microbial Analysis
