Mission

The mission of the Senior Software as a Service (SaaS) Implementation Project Manager is to successfully manage the implementation of Software as a Service product(s) for EBSCO customers. Senior IPMs (Implementation Project Manager) has the expertise to manage EBSCO’s large-scale multi-component/consortium implementations as well as our Level 1 customers. The Senior IPM role will be responsible for overall project strategy, defining roles and responsibilities across the multiple organizations and people involved. They will coordinate all steps and tasks in the project, ensuring on-time completion of all aspects, and eventual go-live. They will also be responsible for the quality of implementation as well as the transition of our customers to long-term support. A Senior IPM will work hand in hand with management to establish a culture of success and learning within the team. This is a highly visible role within the organization requiring a combination of project management, technical, interpersonal, and leadership skills to be successful.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Own all day-to-day operations for EBSCO’s largest and most difficult multifaceted projects including collection and delivery of project-specific data, customer-facing communications, and status reports.
  • Create and manage project schedules that have multiple tracks, including detailing dependencies, deadlines, and other information that may impact the delivery and/or quality of the project.
  • Organize workflows and facilitate getting work done without coercion or dictating work across multiple departments and teams within the organization.
  • Create, revise, and adjust project plans as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Develop communication plans to effectively communicate project objectives, status, and timing expectations to all stakeholders.
  • Manage relationships and collaborate with 3rd party partners to deliver projects on time
  • Responsible for helping to define/improve risk management and escalation processes for project workflows where necessary.
  • Provide technical support and consultative services to customers and partners diagnosing, troubleshooting, and debugging issues as well as sharing best practices.
  • Motivate cross-functional and cross-organizational project teams to work together in the most efficient and effective manner.
  • Spearhead communication to identify areas for improvement in internal processes within the department and cross-organizationally, along with workable solutions.
  • Support and educate the wider implementation team on customer and operational intricacies and efficiencies.
  • Collaborate and consult with the management team on onboarding activities and requirements. 
  • Act as the first line of support for team escalations including customer issues, questions, and problems as well as internal technical troubleshooting and implementation best practices.
  • Lead team meetings and training by focusing on topics and themes that are pertinent to the team’s growth.

 

 

Required Qualifications

  • At least 3-5 years of directly relevant experience in project management in a fast-paced software/technical environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to communicate with a wide variety of audiences ranging in skill set (highly technical to non-technical) and experience (individual contributors to executive management), cross-organizationally and with external partners.
  • Must be able to create and deliver presentations as well as project plans, reports, and other project documents.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Must demonstrate a proven track record of collaborating in a team environment and examples of the ability to build strong working relationships with both internal and external partners.
  • Must be resourceful and seek solutions through research, information gathering, stakeholder discussions, and exercise sound business judgment.
  • University Degree (or 5+ years experience in software implementation)

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the library industry is not required, but an interest and solid understanding of library technology and practices are helpful.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analysis skills combined with impeccable business judgment.

 

Target Annual Compensation Range: $77,195 - 110,280
