News-Press & Gazette Broadcasting is seeking a dynamic, technically advanced and self-motivated Automation Systems Video Engineer to provide support for television station technical operations – such as on-air automation systems, encoding, multiplexing, transcoding, monitoring and video/IT systems - as well as installation and maintenance of equipment at all NPG station locations. 

This position will be based at the NPG Broadcast Operations Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, but will work with multiple and various groups within the NPG organization, both local and corporate, to ensure organizational effectiveness and all levels of statutory compliance.    

Successful candidate will be able to work independently, exhibit strong collaboration, verbal and written communication skills, and have a proven record in project-planning and implementation.  At least three years’ experience in broadcast television engineering or information technology is required, with a four-year degree in communications, electrical engineering or information technology preferred.  Must manage and perform on-call duties and work flexible hours.   

Physical requirements of this position are – lifting objects up to 50 lbs., working on ladders and high rooftops, lifting, moving and setting television, multimedia and related production equipment, and working in tight spaces.

This is a full-time exempt position with a competitive benefits package.  Candidate must possess or be able to acquire a valid Colorado driver license with an acceptable driving record and submit to and pass a drug test and background check.

Annual Salary Range:  $70K - $80K
