Essential Responsibilities:

 • As a member of the KPE Executive Management Team, the Chief Technology Officer ("CTO") will be responsible for;

 • Creating, implementing, integrating and overseeing all technological aspects of the company including strategy, standards, specifications and processes.

 • Conducts or leads special studies on economic feasibility and on complex new technologies, methods and materials.

 • Reviews engineering concepts, drawings, calculations and specifications.

 • Provides input, technical basis and direction to engineering for development of diagrams, calculations and project design.

 • Drives strategic alliances, especially with technology partners, that enhance the company's competitive positioning.

 • Conducts or leads special studies on economic feasibility and on complex new technologies, methods and materials.

 • Works closely with the Chief Executive Officer & Information Technology Administrator to effectively manage information security, risks, and controls frameworks.

 • Develops and coordinates special technical educational and training programs for KPE staff.

 • Takes an active and visible role, representing KPE at client meetings, project sites and professional conferences & committee meetings.

 • Actively investigates, evaluates and contributes to technological advances in the specialized field, and keeps executive leadership team informed on these important new advances.

 • Provides professional guidance to senior management and senior client technical staff.

 • Develops and coordinates special, technical educational and training programs for KPE staff based upon the latest advancements in technology specific to the EPC sector.

 • Exercises the utmost in discretion when dealing with highly confidential information relative to company projects, client information & pricing, etc.

 • Maintains an open line of communication with Project Management with regards to work status, workload, as well as problems & progress relative to work assignments.

 • Travel will be required to attend meetings, client project sites & facilities, or other business-related locations & functions as part of this role.

Knowledge & Experience:

 • Substantial and extraordinary technical knowledge in a specialized field of engineering in the EPC industry.

 • Knowledge of process engineering systems, calculations, applications and construction methods and materials Knowledge of related construction practices and the economics involved.

 • Thorough knowledge of industrial and regulatory standards and design criteria in the engineering discipline.

 • Highly detail oriented and self-motivated professional with the ability to easily and effectively contribute in a team, project-based environment with regular interaction with internal & external clients of all disciplines.

 • A recognized degree in chemical engineering or similar discipline; preferably a master's degree or PhD from an accredited college in similar field, and/or a professional license in an appropriate discipline from a recognized licensing board.

 • Progressive work experience preferably in process engineering, technology development and selection, applied science, specialty engineering but may be in other relevant types of engineering/science including systems start-up, field engineering or plant operation in large refineries, plants or engineering/construction contractor firms.
