The Pharmacy Technician 3 is responsible for assisting the Pharmacy Technical Supervisor, Technician 4, and Pharmacy Manager in providing direction/guidance to the technician 2 staff on day-day operations, maintaining the cleanliness of the Pharmacies, monitoring of daily clean room tasks, maintaining and managing inventory in assigned area, and training/education of new employees. These responsibilities include: training and/or orientating new employees, new process implementation and development, and monthly division reviews. The Pharmacy Technician 3 is also responsible for performing all the functions any of the Technician jobs when assigned. All assigned activities are performed under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist and Pharmacist Manager. Accurate preparation of patient medications including sterile products, chemotherapy, unit dose, cartfills, TPN, narcotics including education/training and Omnicell stocking. Assists the Pharmacy managers and Technician Supervisor with employee issues which require additional education/training. Serve as a mentor and develop role models for technical staff. Orients and trains new staff. Educates staff on process improvement and safety initiatives. Completes monthly division reviews. Monitors completion of daily clean room tasks. Assures the cleanliness of pharmacy spaces including clean rooms. Prepares daily orders and monitors inventory in assigned areas Good communication skills are essential. Must be fully proficient in their role as a technician and can independently perform complex tasks.

High School Equivalent / GED CPhT Certified Pharmacy Technician Prior experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital or community setting is required. Minimum of (2) years as a Tech 2 Pharmacy.
