Performs secretarial and general office duties to support the physician and the department in its clinical, academic, and research activities. Demonstrate the ability to assess patients status and identify each patients requirements relative to the age and or disease specific needs. Main duties of the position include, Demonstrates the essential behaviors of working together as an integrated team, accountability, and pursing continuous improvement. Provides operational support to ensure the smooth flow of the department through excellent communications and schedule coordination. Completes patient correspondence as needed. Rescheduling patients for physicians and all other duties that support the clinical provider practice from a clerical perspective which includes but is not limited to, Answers and screens all telephone messages including phone mail messages. Maintains and oversee providers schedules. Maintains a professional demeanor when dealing with staff, physicians and external contacts in order to present the office in a positive manner. Maintains and consistently provide effective communication to those we serve. Excellent organizational, verbal, written communication, and spelling skills, medical terminology, customer service, typing 55 wpm, PC, word processing in a Windows environment required. Medical transcription, good spelling, and excellent written and verbal skills. At least one year experience medical office, preferably in a teaching hospital. Call center experience, preferred, MedOnc Only. Computer, dictating system, calculator, photo copying machine, facsimile, and phone.
