Join our team of competent and compassionate professionals as a Drug Court Clinician (LICSW) in the Adult Court Clinic program at Behavioral Health Network! This position serves the Springfield District Courts.

 

**NOTICE**

In accordance with the BHN Mandatory COVID vaccine policy - all staff, interns, temps, residents and contractors are required to be fully vaccinated no later than day one of employment. Medical or religious exemptions will be offered and must be approved prior to starting work.

Your experience, knowledge and great skills will support the Adult Court Clinic program with the following:

  • Completing clinical screenings, psychosocial assessments, and treatment planning for drug court referrals, in conjunction with probation.
  • Collaborating with the Drug Court team by providing clinical insights to help develop improvements in the assessment and placement process.
  • Educating the Drug Court team by offering clinical perspectives on participants.
  • Assisting in level of care and treatment recommendations for participants.
  • Assisting participants with care coordination and treatment referrals.
  • Connecting with community based service providers to enhance the success of participants.
  • Engaging participants and their families to maximize participant success.
  • Providing testimony to the court on the status of each participants.

 

Who are we?

The Adult Court Clinic provides court ordered evaluations of competence to stand trial, criminal responsibility, and aid-in-sentencing of defendants in District and Superior Courts in the four counties of Western Massachusetts.  It conducts evaluations for civil commitments for alcohol/substance abuse, and for psychiatric hospitalization commitments. It also provides consultations to judges, probation officers, attorneys and family/community member.

Job Requirements:

What are we looking for in a Drug Court Clinician?

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work (required).
  • Licensed as a LICSW (required).
  • At least three years of demonstrated experience working with individuals with substance use disorders.
  • Experience working with court-involved criminal defendants.
  • Experience in treating individuals with these challenges.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches to substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health disorders and recovery.
  • Knowledge of treatment approaches with substance use disorders and ability to support recovery and reduce recidivism in partnership with court personnel and especially in partnership with Probation (who provides supervision of court-ordered conditions).
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within a multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Excellent communication, organization, verbal, and written skills.
  • Experience working with individuals with co-occurring disorders, ability to work collaboratively on a multidisciplinary team.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness/ability to travel for work (required).
