As a Community Hospital Finance Manager this position provides financial guidance to the hospital leadership team, and financial support to the Director of Community Hospitals & Vice President of Treasury & Community Hospitals.   

This individual assists hospital administration & general managers in order to improve understanding of the financial impact of the various hospital operations. 

This position is responsible for monthly analysis of financial outcomes & presentation of operational reviews for presentation to senior leadership. 

This role is also responsible for weekly/monthly/annual financial forecasts, as well as prepare and coordinate the submission of the annual capital and operating budgets.

Present financial information & results to hospital & UH system leadership.  

Serve as a resource person and advisor on special projects and business plans, and participate in both hospital and system committees as needed to promote effective use of resources.

Education:

  • Bachelor Degree required.
  • MBA preferred.

Credentials, Licensure or Certification:

  • CPA preferred, but not required – education will be considered as a substitute

Experience & Knowledge:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant job experience

Working knowledge of:

1)            U.S. GAAP – specifically not-for-profit hospitals

2)            Cost accounting

3)            Soarian, EPSi, Eclipsys & other billing systems

4)            Revenue cycle

5)            Utilization management and patient access

Special Skills & Equipment Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, General ledger, Accounts Payable and Cost accounting systems. 
  • Extensive knowledge of Excel required. 
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and problem solving skills required. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
