Wildlife Ecologist

Project Manager will work on restoration of native wildlife habitat, implement and evaluate research designs and methodologies to statistically analyze ecologically-based projects in Northern Idaho. Need self-starter who can work independently and as team player, someone with aptitude in ArcMap, relational databases, and ability to supervise others.

Knowledge and Skills:

Excellent skills in communication (both oral and written), report writing, statistical data analysis, botanical and avian surveys, and aptitude in ArcMap are required. Ability to supervise, coordinate and work collectively with a diverse range of individuals and Kootenai Fish and Wildlife staff. Knowledge and understanding of terrestrial ecology, bird vocalizations, botanical ID, and proficiency with relational databases and statistical software is required. Additionally, an understanding and knowledge of Kootenai Tribal (Ktunaxa) history is a desired attribute.

Qualifications:

Requires a B.S. degree in natural resource management (or closely related field) and 5 years of related professional experience or a M.S. degree in natural resource management (or closely related field) and 3 year of related professional experience. Must pass drug test, have a valid driver’s license and be tribally insurable. Also, position will be required to obtain a valid passport within the 90 day probationary period. Must be fully vaccinated for Covid-19.
