GENERAL PURPOSE:

 

The Marketing Operations Manager is an experienced professional who is driven and motivated to own operations, troubleshooting, and efficient process management & improvement for our eCommerce business. They drive success through managing and optimizing our Marketing systems and process flows, serving as the key point of contact for the Purchasing, Operations, Inventory/Warehouse. They are responsible for identifying and driving improved performance, enhancements, automations, and efficiencies in our technology systems and how we use them. Requires an individual who is organized, deadline driven, and has strong prioritization, project management and data/analytical skills.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND Responsibilities:

 

Inventory and Channel Management:

  • As an online direct to consumer business, inventory availability is critical to our success. Ensure our top SKUs maximize sales by remaining in-stock; monitor, take proactive actions, and improve processes in the areas of Purchasing, Receiving, WH Inventory Transfers; expedite & monitor Amazon FBA and FBM stock levels daily for optimization.
  • Track, communicate, and manage repeated inbound delays to products landing in our warehouses by implementing better systems and processes
  • Active hands-on management of cases and tickets with Amazon, including troubleshooting, calling Amazon, writing cases, and working cross functionally to resolve.  Resolutions will include operational process improvements, expediting transfers, or leading the execution of changes to product collateral or product quality/packaging depending on the driver for the issue.
  • Tracking, troubleshooting, and resolving when other Amazon sellers are in our Buy Box for our products; following through to resolution; understand and take appropriate steps with Amazon to protect our brands/listings from fraudulent sellers; actively manage Amazon Brand Registry processes, and Patent/Trademark follow up.  Includes

processing notices to Amazon infringers and ensuring trademark compliance on our products and working through to resolution, including Legal as needed.

  • Lead project manager for projects with teams around changes to SKUs, assemblies, and packaging by working with the New Product Development, Purchasing, and Warehouse teams.  Manage updates to ERP for changes required.  Establish and develop written guidelines for the most efficient option/decisions based on the scenarios and our needs.
  • Manage follow up and resolution on all product quality issues by working with the Sourcing and Quality teams.

 

Systems and Technology:

  • Develop a strong understanding of our Netsuite ERP system and the data model, including all key settings for master data (customers, items, vendors) and transactions (orders, invoices, credits, PO’s, etc.). Serve as subject matter expert for the NetSuite system in supporting the Stand Steady team, including being able to access information, manage data maintenance and be point for managing and suggesting enhancements

 

  • Champion and lead initiatives with IT and functional department team members to get changes and enhancements made to the ERP and other systems that better support the business, through gathering requirements, prioritization, and project management to deliver within the required timeframe.
     

General Focuses:

  • Generally, be the go-to on problem solve issues, provide efficient and effective interdepartmental communications and follow up, and implement new processes
  • Overall responsibility to ensure efficient, optimized Marketing Operations processes for the Stand Steady team, and quick response to ad hoc issues.
  • Identify and implement technical, operational, and other business solutions to achieve financial targets and or business efficiencies
  • Restructure Stand Steady internal processes to position us to continue to grow now that we are a larger and more complex organization
  • Continually seek out operational and profit margin inefficiencies, and manage cross functional teams to implement changes to processes to gain efficiency and/or margin improvement
  • Create, manage and report KPI’s for Marketing Operations, and General Operations to provide visibility to target goals and actual results that support the Stand Steady business
  • Support future growth of the Stand Steady brand (and other brands) by expanding the Marketing Ops Team when needed; hire and manage a team of A-players, including analysts and other roles as needed; ensure they receive coaching and mentoring, training, upskilling, ongoing development, and semi-annual performance reviews.
  • Project manage and troubleshoot cross functional, multi-step, and/or multi-month projects as needed
  • Manage allocating both day-to-day and special projects operations work to the operational assistant/s, and manage the quality of their performance

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

 

  • Thorough understanding of an internet retailing company’s operations, including all marketing and front-end processes, order to cash, and sourcing through fulfillment
  • Ability to prioritize across multiple competing projects/initiatives/responsibilities, for themselves and for projects including others; capable and comfortable with presenting and discussing competing priorities across departments/groups and gaining a consensus to move forward
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Demonstrated excellent time management and project management skills

  • Ability to work with and analyze data to draw conclusions and provide fact based and data driven insights and recommendations

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

 

  • Work History Requirements:
    • Minimum 6 years work experience, preferably including time in Marketing, Marketing Operations, Analytics/IT, and/or General Operations
    • 2+ year in Operations / Marketing Operations management
    • 5+ years experience hands on managing projects
    • Strongly prefer experience in Amazon seller environments

 

  • Education Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience

 

Computer equipment and level of software requirements:

 

  • Intermediate with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proficient in full Office 365 Suite  
  • CRM experience, preferably Salesforce
  • ERP Systems experience in a consumer goods sales and distribution environment, preferably Netsuite or other current cloud-based ERP systems
  • Experience with Channel Advisor or similar internet sales channel management tool(s) preferred
