The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for a variety of information and data lifecycle needs in the Enterprise Data Services department. This position will take point on new strategic data requests and perform the necessary analysis to help determine feasibility, requirements, budget, execution, design, resource needs, and progress. These activities may include documenting business needs and requirements, mapping enterprise data to business needs, leveraging SQL for complex data analysis, and creating reports and/or dashboards as necessary.

  • Responsible for managing new strategic data requests through the lifecycle of the request
  • Responsible for working with key customers and stakeholders to prioritize their business requirements, and to translate these requirements into clear concise deliverables
  • Ensures the timeliness, accuracy, and quality of each project
  • Manage the full life cycle of development projects including planning, design, development, testing, rollout, and support
  • Analyze data using SQL, and develop reports and dashboards when appropriate
  • Analyze and interpret collected data: spotting trends, writing reports and recommendations
  • Recommend changes and enhancements to the enterprise data warehouse to support new business needs and initiatives
  • Develop documentation relevant to requests, environment, and inventory
  • Develop repeatable processes to be used by others in the management of new data requests
  • Run enterprise data request intake meetings
  • Responsible for maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction with both internal and external customers by ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data-related deliverables.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to develop and implement improved reporting and data workflows and processes
  • Responsible for measuring and communicating progress against priorities
  • Ensures that relevant data governance and security policies are implemented and upheld
  • Takes responsibility for self-development and supports a learning environment
  • Mentors junior members in the job track
  • Displays commitment to the mission of the hospital and its values.
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience & Knowledge:

  • 5-7+ years related information technology experience required.
  • Experience with Reporting and Analytics tools such as Power BI, SSRS, Tableau, Cognos, Microstrategy and/or, Business Objects required.
  • Experience with RDBMS platforms (SQL Server, Oracle, and/or MySQL) desired.
  • Ability to analyze data using SQL
  • Experience with Epic Analytics tools including Radar, SlicerDicer, Cogito, and Reporting Workbench desired.
  • Clinical or business reporting and analytics experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience using large & small project management methodologies
  • Healthcare experience highly desired.
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex business problems through technology solutions.
  • Must be detail-oriented and organized, with good research, analytical and problem-solving abilities.   
  • Notable client service, communication, presentation and relationship building skills required. 
  • Ability to function independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment required. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with various levels in an organization.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. 
  • Master’s degree preferred.
