Adjunct Faculty

Washburn University’s College of Arts and Sciences invites applications for the following adjunct faculty positions beginning September 2019.   

Communications Department

Adjunct faculty positions are available in the Communications Department at Washburn University for the Fall 2019 semester.

  • Required Qualifications – Master’s Degree in Communication Studies or a Master’s Degree and 18 credit hours in Communication Studies.

  • Availability – Afternoons Fall 2019

Modern Languages Department

Adjunct faculty positions are available in the Modern Languages Department at Washburn University for the Fall 2019 semester.

  • Required Qualifications – Master’s Degree in French (or a related area) or a Master’s Degree and 18 credit hours in French.

  • Availability – MTWR, 9:00 AM – 9:50 AM

Music Department

Adjunct faculty positions are available in the Music Department at Washburn University for the Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 semesters.

Adjunct Position in Tuba

  • Required Qualifications – Master’s degree in Music (preferred Doctorate in Music or ABD); experience teaching applied tuba at the collegiate level; successful record of collegiate level teaching; successful recruiting and retaining of undergraduate music students

  • Responsibilities – Perform in Faculty Brass Quintet; teach applied tuba; teach music courses assigned to fit successful applicant’s qualifications; recruit students and maintain a public profile as a performer and teacher

  • Availability – Fall 2019 & Spring 2020

The successful candidate will be required to provide official transcripts and submit to a background check prior to hire.
