Summary: 

Ensures the efficient and effective daily operations of the MetroHealth System’s (MHS) satellite or partner site trauma program. In collaboration with the site Trauma Medical Director and MHS Trauma Program Manager, directs, integrates, and evaluates the program. Holds self accountable for the identification, evaluation, and documentation of patients’ needs. Identifies the appropriate intervention(s) to ensure quality and cost effective patient care. Provisions trauma nursing care for appropriate patient population(s). Functions within the standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines established by The MetroHealth System. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

 


Qualifications:

Required: 

Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of professional nursing. 

Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure for the State of Ohio. 

5 years of clinical experience in a critical care unit (i.e. an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Critical Care Unit (CCU), Emergency Department (ED), etc.), and trauma program experience. 

Possess a current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Instructor certification through the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) or obtains within 1 year of start date. 

Current membership in a professional nursing organization and maintains through the duration of employment. 

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. 

Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision making skills. 

Proven history of on-going professional development. 

Willing and able to work evenings and weekends as needed based on operational and departmental needs. 


Preferred: 

Master’s of Science Degree in Nursing (MSN) or Master’s Degree in a related field. 

5 years of progressive health care management experience that includes program planning, analysis, financial management, and operational management. 


Physical Requirements: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents.
