Cooperman (formerly Saint) Barnabas Medical Center (CBMC) is seeking a Transplant Surgeon, Renal and Pancreas Division, Northern NJ

Cooperman (Saint) Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey, is expanding its growing transplant service line and seeking an additional Renal and Pancreas Transplant Surgeon for full-time employment.

The ideal candidate will have completed an abdominal transplant surgery fellowship and serve as a vital member of the transplant program. Duties will include substantial clinical responsibilities, such as performing kidney transplants, pancreas transplants, and living donor nephrectomies, as well as inpatient and outpatient care. This is a chance to join an experienced, multi-disciplinary team with a robust support staff. The position also offers excellent compensation and a comprehensive benefits package. For interested candidates, there is the potential opportunity to perform liver transplantation with the liver team at nearby University Hospital in Newark, NJ.

The Renal and Pancreas Transplant Division is one of the largest transplant programs in the United States, averaging >300 kidney transplants (including >140 living donor transplants) per year since 2015. The Transplant Division has served residents of New Jersey and surrounding states for more than 30 years.

Successful candidates will be:
  • Board-certified/eligible from the American Board of Surgery and have completed an ASTS-certified Abdominal Organ Transplant Surgery Fellowship
  • NJ licensed or eligible for NJ licensure
Through the RWJBarnabas Health affiliation, Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center also collaborates with the Newark Beth Israel Medical Center Heart and Lung Transplant Program, the RWJ University Hospital Kidney and Pancreas Transplant Program, the University Hospital Liver Transplant Program, the New Jersey School of Medicine as well as Rutgers University.
