The Tulane University Contact Tracer position is part of the Tulane University Campus Health team of committed professionals dedicated to supporting and promoting student health and wellbeing as a core institutional value through a multidisciplinary, comprehensive approach. This position will last up to one year.

The Contact Tracer reports to the Director of Public Health Initiatives & Assessment or designee and collaborates closely with the staff at the Health Center. The individual in this position will identify members of the public who were exposed to patients diagnosed with infectious diseases. The individual in this position assists with calling and monitoring of contacts of anyone diagnosed with COVID-19 at Tulane. This position works on the Tulane University Uptown campus, with a varied schedule including nights and weekends as needed.

The Contact Tracer calls patients who contracted infectious diseases, establish which individuals those patients had contact with, and initiate isolation protocols to limit further disease transmission. The individual in this position also documents symptom checks, refers contacts for testing according to established protocols, and provide contacts with instructions for quarantine. The Contact Tracer is required to follow all scripts, policies and procedures provided by Tulane Campus Health, and comply with Tulane Campus Health training regarding confidential information related to personal information. This individual will need to be able to use an electronic health record and a telephone to conduct contact tracing.
