Join our team of competent and compassionate professionals as a Supportive Social Worker in the Kids Stop School age program at Behavioral Health Network!

Your experience, knowledge and great skills will support the Kids Stop School age program with the following:

  • Working with a caseload of 10-15 children who have been authorized for Childcare by DCF.
  • Routinely meeting with the parent/guardian and DCF Caseworkers.
  • Routinely visiting with the children at the Childcare centers.
  • Consulting with teachers and acts as the liaison between the Childcare Centers, parents/guardians, and DCF.
  • Receiving referrals from the DCF and contact Center Directors to establish availability.
  • Contacting DCF Caseworker for background information.
  • Contacting parent/guardian to set up Orientation visit at the Childcare Center.
  • Attending orientation and assists parent/guardian with enrollment paperwork.
  • Meeting approximately monthly with DCF Caseworker and parent.
  • Meeting at least weekly with the child and teachers at the Childcare Center.
  • Completing the required EEC documentation including a Referral/Contact Log, a 45 Day Assessment and Quarterly Assessments.
  • Tracking Authorization end dates and request renewals.
  • Assisting in conflict resolution discussions between center and parents.
  • Making weekly home visits with parent/guardians or as needed.
  • Making Referrals for additional services as needed.

What are we looking for in a Supportive Social Worker?

Qualifications/Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required. BA in Social Work or equivalent is preferred.
  • Casework experience and work with children preferred.
  • Demonstrates an ability to work with team members from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to create a weekly schedule that provides sufficient space to accomplish the responsibilities of the position.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
